CONGRATULATIONS to my wonderful friend and CP TESSA DARE! Her fabulous (trust me) novel GODDESS OF THE HUNT has just finaled in the prestigious ORANGE ROSE contest. Good luck my, friend! And...as you likely know, she has recently signed with a terrific agent. Yay!
But there's more good news-much more in fact! Everywhere I turn I read about one of you finaling in a contest, signing with an agent, finishing a manuscript, getting a request...popping out a baby--Leigh is he here yet? So much good news in fact, I thought why not have a good news blog? Please share your good news with us. We're thrilled for you! And don't be shy to share your friend's good news either. I'm not!
I'll start with my MAGGIE final for TWIST OF FATE. Keep your fingers crossed for DARCY and GLORIOUS and me. Darcy and I are going to partay in Atlanta. Let us know if you're going too.

Congrats again on the Maggie's and I'll be at the award ceremoney cheering for you and Darcy. I've had 2 full requests from publishing companies and two requests from agents I'm terribly keen on.
Wow, Beverley, requests for fulls are impressive, and I'm holding a good thought for the outcome. The agent search is so tough. Major congratulations on the agent requests. This is just the kind of news I'm talking about. It's wonderful to see how much progress everyone is making. Keep us posted! Can't wait to catch up in Atlanta!
Can't wait to hear how the GRW conference goes for you and Darc! Many many good vibes coming your way for luck with the Maggie awards!!! =)
I had a request for a partial last week from an editor. I also mailed out partials to two agents I pitched in Dallas. Squee!
And of course, India and Bev and I are going to party like rock stars in Atlanta, LOL!
Congrats, India!! i am so thrilled for you! Have a wonderful time in Georgia and bring back that win!! Sounds like everyone is doing really well. Passion's Slaves has some good news as well. Erin McClune has made the finals in the Ticket to Write Contest!! Go Erin!!! Marianne Harden (aka Scarlett) and I have both made the finals in the Molly!! Do I keep good company, or what!!
Erica, thanks for the well wishes. You forgot to mention your own good news. Signing with an agent is a definte milestone. Congratulations!
Darcy, can't wait for Atlanta. And congrats on those requests!
Pam, you are tearing it up on the contest scene! And hugs to Marianne and big congrats to her and Erin on their finals. Yes, Pam you do keep good company. I believe we all do. Isn't wonderful to see how much we've accomplished since FanLit? Hard to believe that was less than a year ago.
Wow! I'm overcome by good news!
I got a request from a Highly Respectable Agent last week. Crossing my fingers for everyone, and a special congrats to the Passion Slaves and their many contest finals!
Party hard for me, ladies!
I have a book coming out in September (The Werewolf Whisperer).
Good luck to everyone with partial and full requests! Congrats and party hardy!
Congratulations, Lacey! That rocks! Keep us posted.
Ericka, major congrats! BTW- great title! Where can we get this fabulous book?
Congrats, India and Darcy, on 'The Maggie'. The conference should be a blast, and a request-for-full will make it all the sweeter. My fingers are crossed for you two. I see good things in your future.
And Lacey, wow! that is super. Keep us posted.
Beverley...2 full requests ....you go, girl! That's wonderful.
Darcy, a partial request as well. When it rains it pours!
Ericka....cool title and congrats. Well done.
Well, it is just raining good news all over the place. We Washitonian's just gotta mention rain. It is in our blood. :)
Marianne, double congratulations to you! I hear you not only finaled in the Molly, but your entry is up for the unsinkable heroine award. That's fantastic!
Speaking of raining good news, the forecast says there's a high pressure system bringing more precipitation in the near future. So stay tuned. :-)
Yay, everyone! I've been seeing so many FanLit names in contest finals recently. Everyone's tearing it up.
Congrats again, India! You are the contest diva!
I'm so proud to call you my friend and CP.
First, congratulations on this good news.
Secondly, thanks for dropping by my blog. One of my students who regularly reads my blog got off on the issues of kids being named after places several posts ago. My student's name is India. That's why I linked a post to your blog. If you read any of the comments, you might have noticed that she was interested that someone else had used the name. I'll make sure she sees your comment explaining that it was your grandma's name; she'll want to know that.
(My grandmother was named after a place, too, but it was a city.)
Congratulations Ladies! Well done!
Congrats on the Golden Gateway final (so glad I can post that in public at last :>!). You're on a roll! And good luck in the final round!
Thanks, Alice and Jackie!
Jackie, congrats on your huge final in the Put Your Heart in a Book contest! Yay, you! The good news just keep rolling in and multiplying.
And Paperback Writer, welcome! What was your grandmother's name?
Florence was grandma's name.
But we're not Italian, so I have no idea where her mom got the idea. (Keep in mind that she was born in 1894, so it's been a while.) Her nickname was Flossie, which I think is kind of cute.
Her mother's name was Phoebe, which I also think is a cool name. I named a character after her once.
Thanks for asking.
Wow- thanks for the post! I'm logging on just for this reason- to catch up with everyone and their good news! To see how you rockin' ladies are eating up the road to publishing.
Yes- my good news is that I am a mom. Wow! How crazy to see that in writing. I am a 13 day old mom. Bodhi is the sweetest little boy and I love just staring at him all day. For the first time today, though, I did get the familiar itch to read a juicy historical. Too bad Lisa Kleypas' new book isn't comming out for a few weeks.
Congrats to all the good news, ladies!
Very small good news from me. I've started writing again. And it feels great.
HUGE congratulations on your contest final. I'm so very proud of you and all the other fabulously talented FanLitters!
Paperback Writer, I love the name Flossie! Will file that away for future character names.
Leigh, oh my goodness. He's so beautiful. And isn't it wonderful how we fall in love with our babies? I can't wait to meet Bodhi. I'll be seeing you maybe in October, I love fall in Colorado.
Lenora, that's huge news. Am so glad you're writing again. I've been having quite the time with writer's block myself this week. Painful, isn't it? Hang in there. Good to have you back.
The Werewolf Whisperer is coming out from StarDust Press on Sept 10th. Check my blog for details about my Howl at the Moon contest!
Way beyond fashionable late in wishing India, Tessa and CM much luck in the Golden Gateway!! Talk about some ladies who are tearing up the contest circuit!! The FanLit train is a real juggernaut this year!! And Lady Leigh, now THAT is a creative accomplishment. Congrats on the birth of your son! This is SO exciting because in a year or so all of your books will be on the shelves and I can say "I KNOW THOSE AUTHORS!" Keep it up ladies!
