My current favorite heroine is Sapphire McKenzie...she's a vampire with a very human problem...agoraphobia. What's worse, is she's a private detective who needs to save her true love from a murder charge. And she's going to have to leave home to do it!

My heroine, Cory, is a bluestocking with a penchant for getting into awkward situations and a decided lack of finesse getting out of them. She's my outlet for all the times I've said the wrong thing or been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Well, now I have a whole new list of heroines to root for! Still really excited for Tessa on the first of what I hope will be many more sales to come!! To tell the truth I really like the heroine of my novel LOST IN LOVE. Addy is 18 years old and thru a strange set of circumstances ends up married to the man of her dreams. He is a duke, a war hero, and a curmudgeon. She doesn't care. She is fearless, unimpressed with his consequence and bluster and determined to make him fall in love with her and she TELLS him so. In addition to everything else, she helps to "rescue" abused horses from their owners in part because of a vow she has made to a childhood friend. She is loyal, sassy, determined/stubborn and the eternal optimist. I like her.

Reading the comment thread, I now realize I'm supposed to dish about my heroines, not my CPs' heroines. Hmmm.

Previous WIP stars Daisy le Fey, a hopelessly unmagical ex-neurophysicist hellbent on making fairy and earning her wings in order to prove herself worthy of her the respect of her peers---until she finds herself on Earth and discovers a whole new set of complications. The thing I find most endearing about Daisy is her tendency to roll full steam ahead the moment she sets her sights on a goal, and her conviction there's nothing she can't do if she just tries hard enough.

Current WIP stars Miss Evangeline Pemberton, a twenty-year-old recent orphan on the run from her abusive lech of a stepfather, who finds herself trapped in a dark mansion with a mysterious man suspected of murder--some old, some new--and the distressing affliction of suffering psychic visions every time she has skin to skin contact. The elements that epitomize Evangeline to me are her unshakable conviction she's always in the right (she's wrong *g) and her instinctive tendency to lend a hand to anyone she feels is in need.

Courtney, you forgot to mention Thalia! We want to hear about everyone's unpubbed heroines and what makes them heroic! What I love most about Thalia is her sharp wit(among other things).

Tessa, I adore Lucy! She's so sassy. I'll be blasphemous and say I'm not enamoured of Elizabeth Bennet. Jane was my favorite in P and P. But thanks for reminding me of Bridget Jones. She's my kind of heroine.

I guess I'll set a good example and say what I love about my own heroine. I love Gwen's big heart and the way she stands up for others.

When Courtney mentioned Amelia, it reminded me of how much I admire Lisa Kleypass's Liberty in SUGAR DADDY. All spunk and heart.

You know we seem to discuss heros more than heroines. At least it seems that way to me. Hmmm.

This is a hard question, because I love TOO MANY heroines. I recently reread "And Then He Kissed Her" by Laura Lee Guhrke, and I just LOVE Emma Dove. She's absolutely marvelous.

There's Lisa Kleypas's Amelia, in "Mine Till Midnight." Lucy, in "The Serpent Prince."

And of course, there's Dr. Gwen Andrews--because I'm a sucker for strong intelligent women with a softside!
